Fresh Mouth

My wife used to say to my daughter you have a fresh mouth numerous times. Then one day my daughter said i don't have a fresh mouth and i don't know what you mean. I said what do you think having a fresh mouth means. She said i guess someone who keeps their teeth clean.
This wasn't the first or second time she heard the reference to fresh mouth.
