We hope you will
consider contributing to the Sue Thompson Scholarship Fund.
Sue Thompson’s
death on April 16, 2004, deprived the NLD community of a gifted scientific
observer who was not only imaginative and visionary, but also astute and
pragmatic. She translated the neuroscientific rhetoric of ivory tower NLD into
user-friendly language that could easily and effectively be used in our homes
and schools. Sue’s awareness that
people dealing with this complex learning disorder need care and education led
to the founding of SHARE Support, Inc., the grass roots organization that laid
the groundwork for the NLDA. Referring to the frequent explanations required by
some children with NLD, Sue originally titled her first book, I Shouldn’t
Have to Tell You.
The Sue Thompson Scholarship Fund was established by the NLDA board in celebration of Sue’s life and her immeasurable impact on the education of children with NLD. It will continue as a testament to her immeasurable contribution to the world of NLD. Tax-deductible donations to the NLDA Sue Thompson Scholarship Fund should be made out to NLDA (specify “Sue Thompson Scholarship Fund”) and sent to:
