For what it’s worth, my 9 y/o son does exactly the same thing with reading. Now that the books are denser, he is reading less. When he does read, he seems to finish the book in a sitting. PS – As for math, even though he is quite good at it, I see his confidence slipping and wonder if the same “brain thing” is happening here too.
