Petra,
With all due respect to Caroline, I would have to disagree with what she said. Of course, neither one of our opinions matter as you really need a competent professional who can make an accurate diagnosis.
Anyway, I am a 44 year old adult with NLD and I definately have reading difficulties that are not due to dyslexia or ADD. For me, my visual recall is very poor (definately part of the visual/spatial problem area associated with NLD).
Even if on the very odd occasion, I can remember what I read, I then have a hard time with comprehension due to executive function difficulties (planning and organizing) that are often associated with NLD.
This is my unprofessional diagnosis because while I have been diagnosed by a neuropsychologist with NLD, neither he or anyone else has every adequately explained my reading difficulties. I feel Dr. Rourke has come the closest by explaining in one of his lectures from the 1999 Share Conference that when subjects with NLD were tested reading material, the stimilis went to the beginning of their optic area and back to the brain but didn’t go to the front as what occured with normal subjects.
Sorry, Petra, I didn’t mean to go off on a tangent but wanted to mention my experiences in case anything sounded familiar. Hopefully, you will find a competent professional as having a diagnosis has been extremely liberating although it wasn’t easy at first.

PS-I have been on stimilants for close to 2 years.
While they have been extremely helpful, they have not helped my reading. Another reason why you need a professional to sort this all out.
