Help! My nephew with NLD is almost 5 and not yet toilet trained. The problem is that the program he is supposed to go into in December does not take kids if they are not trained (and this is a special ed program!) If he does not learn how over the summer he will be placed in another program which is innappropriate for his specific needs. He can stay dry when reminded at home, but it doesnt seem to work out in his special ed program. Also, he will sit on the potty for long periods of time, but withholds bowel movements, then has accidents when he gets off. Any ideas? His mom is worried about the fall, but doesnt want to stress him out about it.
